For a Well in Ethiopia PDF Print E-mail

In a village in the Tigray region, Ethiopia, there is no source of drinking water. All the girls of the village are responsible daily to obtain water supplies from the closer sources, walking for six hours every day along dusty trails, and often under a merciless sun, to bring water to their families. They are in fact prevented from attending school and learning to read and write. Despite their sacrifice, the water is never enough: for drinking, cooking, washing.

On September 28th and 29th 2012, in Florence, Italy, Prof. CJ Burstone and other Italian colleagues have participated to a course aimed to raise funds for building  a well in the village of Dengolat, Ethiopia, in support of a “Save the Children Project”. We have called this event “Burstone & Friends, for a Well in Ethiopia”

With this effort we have raised the money to build the well that you see here.

To celebrate this success we here leave available for free the lecture by Dr. Fiorelli at this event.
